The sea never repeats itself

With the Nordkapp Enduro 705 centre console, you are always ready for what comes next.

The Nordkapp Enduro 705 is a 7.13-metre-long centre console boat with a 2.30-metre beam. It seats seven people, and the sharp 24-degree V-hull, combined with the pull of a V6 or V8 engine, delivers our sportiest ride to date.

When you spend enough time at sea, you learn it often has a trick up its sleeve. It was one of those rare Nordic summer days with 34 degrees in the air and 25 in the water. Our day on Tisler Island was coming to an end, but like many out that day, we lingered as long as possible before heading home.

We packed up and turned for the mainland as daylight began to fade. We stepped aboard the Enduro 705, two at the helm and four in the aft sofa. Snug and sociable, while the bow stayed free for anyone looking for some extra space. The high freeboards added a quiet reassurance as we moved about, especially since we were travelling with a dog on board.

The run from Tisler to the mainland promised 20 minutes of open water. We eased on the throttle to soak in the scenery before setting off. The sea lay flat like a racing track, painted in warm hues by the evening sun. And as with any painting, it's best enjoyed alongside the rumble of a V8 engine.

As we increased speed, the Enduro 705 responded immediately with a satisfying pull as the 250 hp Mercury engine got to work. On calm days like these, you get reminded of the quiet elegance that hides beneath the sporty performance of this centre console boat.

Every input feels light and precise, and the ride offers  grip and control, a character that stays with you even when the sea is less forgiving. A reassuring feeling when crossing open waters.

Halfway across, we caught movement off the starboard side. One porpoise at first, then a small pod, five or six, gliding just under the surface. We pulled back the throttle and let the boat settle. In a minute, the pod was all around us, skimming the surface, curious and playful. The engine fell silent, and time seemed to stand still.

We had left the island reluctantly, wishing the day would last longer. The sea granted that wish. For ten minutes, we drifted among them. Then, as suddenly as they arrived, they slipped away into the distance.

It is small moments like these that make boating feel timeless. You learn your routes and how the boat reacts to different conditions you might face. The throttle becomes part of the story. How the engine answers, the steadiness of the hull, the quiet confidence at the helm.

And still, no two journeys are the same. Just when you think you have seen it all, the sea offers something new. And whatever it may be, the Nordkapp Enduro 705 is there to carry you with certainty, turning every outing into something worth remembering.
