A RIB boat made for pure driving joy
Exploring the Nordkapp Airborne 7
The Nordkapp Airborne 7 is a 6.80-metre rigid inflatable boat (RIB) made with the driver in mind. With space for up to 10 people, a lightweight hull, standout asymmetric tubes, and engine options up to 250 hp, it brings refined control to RIB boating— all with the understated comfort Nordkapp is known for.
Whether you're heading out for an archipelago day trip or carving through coastal waters, the Airborne 7 feels composed and agile. Built and tested in Nordic waters, it's a Scandinavian take on what a RIB should be: fun, seaworthy and quietly refined.

The satisfying burble of cold-starting the 3.4-litre V6 engine. The hint of power as you grip the steering wheel. This RIB is a feeling or renewed energy. A bad day eraser.

Our designer Espen Thorup puts it plainly: "Some boats are made for speed. But speed is nothing without control."
And control comes in many forms. It's a comfortable driving position. The natural visibility from the helm. And the way the boat responds to your commands, especially when the weather turns and the sea begins to shift.
That's when the Airborne 7 stands out. When the wind picks up and the sea starts moving, this boat comes alive. Like a well-tuned rally car, it feels stable, ready, and trustworthy.

At its core, this mid-range explorer is a driver's RIB. Take it to your favourite spot in the archipelago. Use it to explore new corners of the coastline. Or take it out just for the joy of being behind the wheel.
Despite its sporty nature, the Airborne 7 exudes a calm confidence. The layout is considered and straightforward, with well-defined social zones. There's smart storage for gear, and onboard comforts that invite family and friends to come along time and again.
Materials are chosen for function and durability. A thoughtful range of optional equipment—including shock-absorbing helm seats—adds to the RIB experience. Practical features such as the bow that converts into a sunbed, the wide bow step for stable boarding, and the generous swim platforms contribute to a sense of quiet elegance. Every detail carefully considered to make this a boat that's easy to use and easy to love.

The standout feature of the Airborne series is the asymmetric RIB tubes. Espen Thorup designed them to be thicker at the bow and slimmer towards the aft. This not only creates more usable space where you spend most of your time on board, it also keeps the aft tubes clear of the water when at rest, helping to reduce sea growth. Meaning less maintenance for you, and more time enjoying your boat at sea.
Performance benefits follow naturally. The slimmer aft tubes lower drag, improving both speed and fuel efficiency. The most significant advantage is the improved grip in corners: the hull leans more decisively into the curve, and the G-forces push you downward rather than sideways. That results in a safer, more stable, and more comfortable ride.

The result is a RIB with precise handling and excellent balance. And that's what it's all about. It's out there on the water that you truly feel the difference.
