There are many reasons why Nordkapp designer Espen Thorup says that the Enduro 830 is our best boat to date. The boat offers strong seaworthiness that adds both safety and driving joy, and its versatile layout adapts to different needs at sea.
Still, claims mean little without proof. To see how it performs in everyday use, we handed the boat to four boating journalists and asked them to test it however they saw fit. Here are their unfiltered thoughts.

First impressions after testing the Nordkapp Enduro 830
Terje Bjørnsen, Vi Menn Båt, Praktisk båtägande
"In recent years, Nordkapp has found a strong design direction with the 830 models, and the Enduro 830 hits the mark very well as an experience platform for the whole family.
"Comfort can mean many things in a boat, but here the ability for many people to enjoy a long day trip together really stands out. The first impression is typically Nordkapp – well thought-out, elegant, and with a solid sense of quality.
"I feel that Nordkapp has clearly evolved as a boatbuilder over the past four to five years and now produces boats with greater confidence and conviction than before.
"The forefather of the "new Nordkapp" was, in many ways, the Enduro 760 from 2009, and you can trace a direct line from that model to the Enduro 830. So there's nothing wrong with the DNA."
Lars H. Lindén, Båtnytt, Båtmagasinet, Båtliv
"My overall impression is that the new Nordkapp Enduro 830 stands out quite a bit compared to the established T-top boats that have been on the market for several years. It has a bold design, many clever details on board, and a great standing height.
"Extra credit for the volume in the bow cabin and the smart aft sofa. With the pantry section added, you get not only a stylish day boat but also a comfortable boat for overnight stays."
Claes Olivecrona & Gustav Morin, Skippo
According to Skippo's published test, "The first thing you notice is how solid the Nordkapp Enduro 830 feels. The helm is positioned high, offering great visibility.
"Electronic steering, autopilot, and a generous equipment package give the boat a modern and high-end feel right from the start."
What impressed and what could be improved
Terje Bjørnsen, Vi Menn Båt & Praktisk båtägande
"The outdoor area aft, with good and flexible seating, plenty of room to move around, and great opportunities for swimming and sunbathing. Complemented by a lovely sunbed in the bow. This is the number one fair-weather boat in the Nordkapp lineup.
"Every boat has its compromises, but I think they've found an almost perfect balance for a sundeck boat designed for Nordic use.
"The test boat had a T-top – nice for warmer climates – but I would personally skip it in favour of full sunshine across the cockpit and a better centre of gravity while driving."
Lars H. Lindén, Båtnytt, Båtmagasinet, Båtliv
"What I like most about the boat is its generous width (2,92 metres), which provides excellent space in both the cockpit and the bow cabin. There's also good standing height under the protective (T-top) roof.
"A canopy is available as an optional extra, and a clever detail is that you can move along both the side decks and inside the canopy when it's up."
Claes Olivecrona & Gustav Morin, Skippo
Skippo highlights the strong first impression. Gustav says, "It feels heavy-duty," and Claes follows with "This is a ship." The sense of substance is clear from the moment they get behind the wheel.
They note both strengths and weaknesses at the helm. "I think this boat feels grand, especially when you're standing. You're standing high up, with good visibility," says Gustav. Claes adds his view on comfort. "The passenger-side footrest is not ideal, but as the driver, you sit like a prince."
Skippo also comments on the canopy in their article: "The canopy quickly becomes a topic of conversation on board. It's a bit fiddly to put up and take down, but once it's in place, it works wonders. Suddenly, the boat transforms from an open sports machine into something you can enjoy even in pouring rain or during a chilly autumn breeze."
The T-top becomes another point of discussion. Gustav explains, "A T-top adds 150 kg of additional weight in the wrong places. And I'm usually not convinced about this feature. But the T-top makes the boat much more practical during a longer boating season."
Claes continues, "I don't experience a big drop in performance with the T-top. I have driven T-top boats that have performed badly because the weight placement has been off. And I don't experience this in the Enduro 830."
They conclude with a shared opinion: the T-top edition would be their preferred choice.
Driving characteristics and feeling behind the wheel
Terje Bjørnsen, Vi Menn Båt & Praktisk båtägande
"Nordkapp keeps things on the safe side here, and that's exactly right for a family boat of this kind. It was calm on the test day, but I've driven the other two 830 variants (Noblesse 830 and Coupe 830) in rough conditions and know that they deliver a confident driving experience with good comfort.
"The test boat had 400 horsepower and reached 47 knots. That gives you more than enough speed and a lively feeling at the helm, while the boat runs quietly and efficiently at 25–30 knots. And that's where you're happiest – with family and friends on board."
Lars H. Lindén, Båtnytt, Båtmagasinet, Båtliv
"The helm station is impressive given the boat's size. There's room for two large chartplotters, and another smart feature is that the most important switches are placed to the left of the steering wheel, with all others positioned slightly lower.
"A big plus also goes to the excellent visibility for the driver."
Claes Olivecrona & Gustav Morin, Skippo
Skippo emphasises the boat's safety and comfort: "It runs very safely, even in this fairly rough sea," says Claes.
Gustav notes, "We're heading straight into heavy chop, and you barely notice it. Usually, this kind of boat would slam into the waves, but we sit comfortably at the helm, cruising at a good speed. That says something about how safe this boat feels, even when the conditions get tough."
Skippo further explains in their test, "the test boat was equipped with a 400-horsepower V10 from Mercury, the largest available single-engine option. And it's more than enough. Sure, the boat feels a bit bow-heavy, but it still tracks straight and runs stably."
About the hull, Skippo writes, "we pushed it over 46 knots in heavy seas, and could still sit and chat casually like nothing was happening. That says a lot about the confidence the hull provides. Noise levels are surprisingly low, and the engine sounds more like a pleasant rumble than a disturbance."
The best use for Nordkapp Enduro 830
Terje Bjørnsen, Vi Menn Båt & Praktisk båtägande
"It works well in several use scenarios. I can picture a large family or a group of friends on a day trip – anchoring in a nice bay for a swim, then heading off quickly for lunch at a charming seaside restaurant, before spending the afternoon leisurely cruising through idyllic coastal scenery.
"Alternatively, two adults could take it down the coast for a few days: visiting friends, spending a night at anchor, and maybe a quiet day ashore. And when it's time to head home, you'll be back in just a few hours at 30 knots."
Lars H. Lindén, Båtnytt, Båtmagasinet, Båtliv
"It's a perfect day boat for the whole family, or an ideal weekend boat for two people if you add the pantry section."
Claes Olivecrona & Gustav Morin, Skippo
Skippo writes in their article, "With the canopy deployed and the heater on, it almost feels like a lounge onboard. Together with the massive sunbed that doubles as a seating area, a galley option, and plenty of storage space, you've got a boat that works just as well for a day trip as for an entire weekend on the water."
The Enduro 830 centre console boat has won Best of Boats 2025 in the Best for Fun category and has been named Boat of the Year in Norway. It is also nominated for European Powerboat of the Year 2026 and is a finalist in the 2026 Motor Boat Awards.
